Beloved @ UCI

Beloved International @ UCI was established in 2013 and is the very first collegiate chapter of Beloved International.  They serve to come alongside Beloved International as a faith-based organization whose primary focus is to raise prayer support, financial support, and community awareness for the global orphan crisis and what Beloved International is doing as a ministry in Kenya to combat it. This is done by fundraising on campus and hosting various events during the year, especially through the annual event, Huruma.

Huruma

Beloved @ UCI's hosts our annual and trademark event, Huruma, closer to the end of the school year.  Huruma, which means “compassion” in Swahili, is an awareness and fundraiser talent showcase during which different on-campus ministries across campus join together to showcase their talent as a means of raising funds and awareness for our family homes in Kenya. Beloved @ UCI has been blessed to have partnered with many talented individuals and Christian fellowships across the UC Irvine campus, as well as Tim Be Told. Collectively, they have raised over $4,500 for the cause as well as bringing together college students across southern California to inspire them to action for the global orphan crisis.

Through events and sales such as these, our hope is that the UCI chapter may contribute to making known the name of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, both locally and internationally, with emphasis on the 3 B’s of Beloved – Belief, Belong, and Build.  College is a most opportune time to get involved in the missions field both as supporters and active participants of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).
